The line of lightweight and quite efficient Acer Swift laptops will soon be joined by the Edge 16 model. The specification is very similar to the Acer Swift X 16 model discussed some time ago in PurePC, but this time the focus was more on lightweight design and wireless connectivity. We will meet here with the latest generation of the Wi-Fi 7 module and a webcam with a resolution of 1440p with support for many additional functionalities.

Another laptop from Acer is preparing for its debut – Swift Edge 16. Among the existing models in this series, it will stand out with the latest Wi-Fi 7 connectivity standard. On board we will also find quite efficient components and a thin housing.

Acer Swift X 16 – a notebook designed for graphic processing equipped with AMD Ryzen 7040 series and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40

The laptop is largely focused on mobility, so a magnesium alloy was used to make the structure, which is 12.95 mm thick. Thanks to this, it was also possible to achieve a fairly low weight of 1.23 kg. The heart of the equipment will be one of the AMD Ryzen 7040 series processors with an integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics chip, which is already known to us from the current generation of handhelds. The whole is to be completed with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, as well as a solid-state drive placed in the M.2 connector with a capacity of up to 2 TB. The aspect that has remained unchanged (although it is very good) if the Acer Swift X 16 model compared is the screen. There is the same OLED display with a diagonal of 16 inches, a resolution of 3200 x 2000 px and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is also characterized by a low response time (0.2 ms), a peak brightness of 500 nits and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

On the sides of the device we find two USB type A ports, two USB 4 type C (with the ability to display the image and the Power Delivery function – 65 W), an HDMI port, and a microSD memory card reader. As the Acer Swift Edge 16 is also designed for video calls, there is a 1440p webcam eyelet on the top flap. It supports the technologies Acer Temporal Noise Reduction (better quality in low light) and Acer PurifiedVoice (noise reduction based on AI algorithms). In addition, we will find a Wi-Fi 7 module on board, which can offer a maximum bandwidth of 5.8 Gbps and a low latency of 2 ms. As for the cooling system, there are two ring fans that can work in three modes. In Europe, the laptop will be available in July this year for the suggested amount of EUR 1,199, or about PLN 5,400.
