During its press conference at CES 2023, AMD focused very much on processors – the specifications of the desktop processors Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 7900X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D were confirmed, as well as the new generation of mobile processors Ryzen 7040 (APU Phoenix) and Ryzen 7045 were revealed (Dragon Range CPU). Part of the presentation was used to reveal the new RDNA 3 graphics chips in versions intended for laptops. However, instead of offering models from the high-end segment, more modest versions were chosen, based on the NAVI 33 core.
During the CES 2023 conference, AMD revealed the new Radeon RX 7000M and Radeon RX 7000S graphics chips for laptops. The manufacturer is preparing basic models based on the NAVI 33 core in TSMC N6 lithography.

At least for now, AMD is introducing lower-series RDNA 3 graphics chips for laptops in the form of four models: AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT, Radeon RX 7600M, Radeon RX 7700S and Radeon RX 7600S. They are all based on the NAVI 33 core, which in the Radeon RX 7600M XT and Radeon RX 7700S offers 32 CU blocks and 2048 stream processors. In the case of the Radeon RX 7600M and Radeon RX 7600S, we are talking about a trimmed version with 28 CUs and 1792 FP32 processors. All systems also offer 8 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus (depending on the version, GDDR6 16 Gbps or 18 Gbps cubes were used, which translates into bandwidth from 256 GB / s to 288 GB / s).

AMD APU Phoenix and Dragon Range – presentation of the new generation of Ryzen processors for laptops – Zen 4 and up to RDNA 3 on board
The NAVI 33 system is a monolithic structure, manufactured in the TSMC N6 technological process. The chip area is 204 mm² with 13.3 billion transistors. There are 28 to 32 Gen 2 RT cores on board and 32 MB of Gen 2 Infinity Cache. The individual systems were compared to different GPU models, both to Radeons and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 systems. Interestingly, the mobile Radeon RX 7600M XT was compared with desktop graphics cards GeForce RTX 3060 8 GB and GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB. The new RDNA 3 systems will be used, among others, in on the Dell Alienware m16/m18 and ASUS TUF Gaming A16 Advantage laptops, with more models to be unveiled in the coming months.
