AMD Ryzen 5 8600G – we know more and more about the new APU system. The iGPU system can provide GTX 1060-level performance

AMD Ryzen 5 8600G - we know more and more about the new APU system. The iGPU system can provide GTX 1060-level performanceAMD will soon introduce its long-awaited APU systems for the AM5 platform. The units are to belong to the 8000G series and we expect four representatives in total. For many people, the most interesting one is the 6-core/12-thread Ryzen 5 8600G, which we already know almost everything about. Information about its specifications has just been leaked online. Moreover, preliminary performance results of the built-in graphics have also appeared.

Synthetic tests won’t say it directly, but there are many indications that the Ryzen 5 8600G will be sufficient to play new games. The built-in Radeon 760M performed as well as the GeForce GTX 1060 in the Vulkan test.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700, Ryzen 7 5700X3D and the Ryzen 5000GT and Ryzen 8000G series – we have learned the probable prices of the processors

The processor in question has just appeared in the Geekbench database. As you can see below, we are talking about a 6-core/12-thread unit with a base clock of 4.35 GHz, which in Boost mode accelerates to 5.0 GHz. The processor is equipped with integrated Radeon 760M graphics. This is an RDNA 3 chip with 8 computing units that runs at 2.8 GHz. AMD Ryzen 5 8600G was tested on the MSI X670E ACE motherboard. The choice of this platform suggests that the chip was checked by an MSI employee or already fell into the hands of a reviewer.

AMD Ryzen 7000 processors are becoming more and more profitable. It’s just a shame about the high prices of motherboards

The performance results of the mentioned Radeon are very interesting. The integrated graphics of the upcoming Ryzen 5 8600G scored 30,770 points in the Vulkan test and 24,842 points in the OpenCL test. For comparison, the iconic desktop GeForce GTX 1060 in the same tests scores 30,186 points and 34,507 points, and the infamous GTX 1630 – 23,688 points and 24,938 points. Compared to these units, the Radeon 760M looks very good – although synthetic tests will not say it directly, there are many indications that the Ryzen 5 8600G will be sufficient to play new games (at appropriately reduced details). It is worth adding that we can count on even more in the case of Ryzen 7 8700G, which is to have 8 cores and 16 threads and Radeon 780M graphics with 12 CU units (allegedly clocked at 3.0 GHz). We hope that AMD will announce its next new APU already during CES 2024.
