It has long been known that each subsequent generation of flagship phones does not introduce much new information, but despite this, some of these few innovations can still convince consumers to buy them. Given the likely small number of changes in the upcoming iPhone 16, the most interesting novelty may be the Capture Button. Recent news shows that it can be used to automatically start video recordings, but now we know something more about it.
Using the capture button, iPhone users will be able to not only quickly start recording, but also zoom and focus. The Capture Button is to be located on the right frame of iPhone 16 smartphones, just below the power button.
The Information website revealed some new details about how the capture button works. According to the source, the button probably has a mechanical structure, but interestingly, it should react differently depending on the force of pressure and the touch itself. Using it, users will be able not only to quickly start a recording (with a stronger pressure), but also to zoom (by “moving” the button left or right) or focus (lightly press). The Capture Button is to be located on the right frame of iPhone 16 smartphones, just below the power button, so it will be an ideal place for this type of action.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max – this is what this year’s flagships will look like. We cannot count on a revolution in design
Apple apparently strongly believes that the new button will be the main advantage of the entire iPhone 16 range (it is expected to be included in all four models) and was introduced to further promote the iPhone as an alternative to the camera or camcorder for recording horizontal video. We are very curious to see how the whole solution works in practice, although remember that the premiere of “Sixteen” will probably take place only in the fall of this year. Apple may still make a few changes to its new models, so there is no certainty about their final specifications.
