With sooooo many new shows and films being pumped out from every conceivable tv station and streaming platform, it’s easy to get lost in the titles and miss the good ones. Not so with bad sistersthe amazing comedy on Apple TV+.
Created and written by Sharon Horgan, the dark comedy thriller is set between London and Dublin and is based on the Flemish series Clanwhich was created by Malin-Sarah Gozin.
Horgan is no stranger to bringing dramedy to the small screen. Previous shows like Catastrophe, Divorce and This way up with Aisling Bea, have been tv gold.
And now she can add bad sisters as another string on her BAFTA award-winning bow.
What Is Bad Sisters On Apple TV+ About?
The show is described as a “delicious blend of both dark comedy and thriller”.
It follows the lives of the Garvey sisters, who are bound together by the premature death of their parents and a promise to always protect one another.
However, when the sisters find out that one of their own is married to an abuser, they decide to do something about it.
Despite many failed attempts, the ladies get the job done only to find out the insurance investigators suspect foul play in the death of John Williams.
So will the sisters get away with it or will the police finally uncover their tangled web of lies?

Bad Sisters Season 2 Release Date On Apple TV+
Apple TV+ announced that the first season of bad sisters would debut globally on Friday, August 19 2022 with the first two episodes. They were then followed by one new episode weekly every Friday through October 14th 2022.
The show was a surprise success for Apple TV Plus and found a larger audience abroad thanks to the streaming platform, and the announcement for season 2 quickly followed in November 2022.
As for season 2, it is expected to air no sooner than early 2024.
The main reason is that originally there were no plans for another season so Horgan had to go back to the writing board and create another brand new story for the Garvey sisters. And that kind of creativity takes time!
The good news is that filming for the Irish comedy series is set to kick off in September 2023.
We do know that the returning cast members will include Sharon Horgan as Eva Garvey, Anne-Marie Duff as Grace Williams, Eva Birthistle as Ursula Flynn, Sarah Greene as Bibi Garvey, and Eve Hewson as Becka Garvey.
Other supporting cast members may also return, though there’s no definite information on this yet.
What Will Bad Sisters Season 2 Be About?
The story of bad sisters season 2 will most likely not be a rehash of the first.
Instead, the aftermath of the sisters’ actions is going to take center stage as they have to come to grips with the fact that a murder was committed.
The central story of the season will undoubtedly be about the sisterly bond above all else.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing this (June 2023), specific details about the plot of season 2 and the exact premiere date are not yet available.

If you’re going to make a family drama based on five sisters then you need some stellar actresses to fill those roles.
This series does not disappoint Sharon Horgan playing one of the sisters. She is joined by Anne-Marie DuffShameless), Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene (Roadkill) and Eve Hewson (Behind Her Eyes).
Together they make up the five Garvey sisters.
Also starring in the show are Claes Bang (Dracula), Brian Gleeson, Daryl McCormack, Assaad Bouab and Saise Quinn.
