1. Sanctuary – May 4th

A brand new series from Japan, Sanctuary follows a troubled young offender who embarks on a journey as a sumo trainee and crosses paths with a silent wrestler who harbours a secret.

The story delves deep into the gritty underside of professional sumo, a realm inhabited by aspiring young men with desires for wealth, women, celebrity, and influence.

Against the backdrop of a sumo ring, a sacred space steeped in over 1,500 years of Japanese culture and religious ritual, this is a glimpse into a world few outsiders ever see.

2. Queen Charlotte – May 4th

While we all wait for the next season of BridgertonShona Rhimes has created Queen Charlottethe origin story of Ton royalty.

This prequel tells the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.

3. Black Knight – May 12th

You can always count on the South Koreans to produce some of the best content available anywhere today, and Black Knight is no different.

A sci-fi action series, it is set in 2071, where people depend on respirator masks to breathe. Only one percent of the human race has survived, and a strict social stratification has been established in the deserted lands of the Korean Peninsula.

Delivery drivers play a crucial role within this system, and for refugees, becoming a delivery driver is their only hope for survival.

4. The Mother – May 12th

Also hitting our screens in May 2023 is Jennifer Lopez, and this time it is in the action thriller The Mother. Lopez plays an assassin who gives up her daughter to save them both.

But years later, when her enemies learn of the child’s existence, she comes out of hiding to exact revenge on those who threaten their lives.

5. Queer Eye Season 7 – May 12th

Our favorite Fab five are backand this time they are in New Orleans, making over the lives of everyday people and spreading love and joy as they go.

For pure kindness and lovely tv, it doesn’t get better than Queer Eye.

6. Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me – May 16th

A documentary movie from director Ursula Macfarlane, this is an unflinching and humanising examination of the life, death and secrets of Vickie Lynn Hogan – better known as model and actress Anna Nicole Smith.

With access to never-before-seen footage, home movies, and interviews with key figures who have not spoken out until now, Anna Nicole Smith reveals new insights into the story of the quintessential blonde bombshell hardly anyone really knew.

7. XO Kitty – May 18th

For those of you who absolutely love Lara-Jean Covey and the All The Boys movie trilogy, it’s time to focus on younger sister Kitty!

Kitty thinks she knows everything there is to know about love. But when she moves halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend, she’ll soon realize that relationships are a lot more complicated when it’s your own heart on the line.

8. Muted – May 19th

a spanish crime drama, Muted follows Sergio who hasn’t spoken since the day he murdered his parents.

Six years later, and now released from prison, a teen girl may be the key to revealing the whole story.

9. Fubar – May 25th

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back this time it’s as a CIA Operative on the verge of retirement. That is until he discovers a family secret.

Forced to go back into the field for one last job, the series tackles universal family dynamics set against a global backdrop of spies, action and humour.

10. Blood and Gold – May 26th

From Germany comes Blood and Gold, a movie set in the final days of World War II, when a German deserter, Heinrich, finds himself caught in a battle against SS troops on a mission to uncover hidden gold.

Aided by a local farmer, Elsa, the two are unwillingly dragged into an action-packed hunt for the gold, culminating in a bloody showdown at the village church.
