Cooler Master GA2501 – a cheap monitor for gamers that revives the forgotten VGA connector. Good specification at a low price

Cooler Master GA2501 - a cheap monitor for gamers that revives the forgotten VGA connector. Good specification at a low priceA new, budget model of a gaming monitor has appeared on the market from Cooler Master, which is best known for the production of computer cases and cooling components. An interesting feature of the discussed Cooler Master GA2501 variant is that it offers a VGA connector (DE-15F) forgotten by many. This solution has been replaced (along with DVI) over the years by HDMI and DisplayPort. The manufacturer’s move is therefore quite unexpected.

Cooler Master GA2501 is a seemingly ordinary monitor, but it hides forgotten technology. The manufacturer decided to put a VGA connector in it, which has not been used by most people for years.

New iiyama monitors from the Black Hawk series. Very affordable models aimed at gamers

The origins of the D-Sub connector family date back to the 1950s, while the popular VGA entered the market in 1986. A characteristic feature is that thanks to them we could only send an analog signal, not a digital one as in the case of HDMI or the mentioned DisplayPort. The VGA connector is now almost forgotten, but for some reason Cooler Master decided to reintroduce it to the monitor marked GA2501. In terms of design, we are dealing with a quite slim model that is equipped with a 24.5-inch IPS panel with Full HD resolution and 100 Hz refresh rate. We will encounter a brightness quite typical for the budget monitor segment, which is 250 nits. The matrix response time is 4 ms (GtG).

Redmi G Pro – an attractively priced gaming monitor with Mini LED backlight and VESA DisplayHDR 1000 is coming

In addition to the VGA connector itself, which only enables 75-Hz screen refreshment, gamers can count on HDMI 1.4 and a 3.5 mm Audio-Jack port. The model also supports the VESA 100×100 standard (so we can hang the monitor on the wall), and we can also adjust its angle. Unfortunately, there was no option to change the height. Any shortcomings are fully compensated by the price of the device, which is approximately EUR 110. Cooler Master GA2501 has been introduced for sale in Europe, but it is not yet available in Polish stores. If we are really interested in the offer, we can go to foreign online stores.
