Interesting information has been revealed about the gift that both Sivaji and MGR gave to Aurur Das, a famous narrator of Tamil cinema.
Aurur Das was one of the prominent narrators of the 50s. He belongs to Tiruvarur. From there he joined Tanjore Ramaiyadas and learned the art of storytelling from him. He took the name Arurdas by combining the name of his hometown Tiruvarur and the latter part of his name Yesudas. He has written story, screenplay and dialogues in more than 500 films.
He wrote most of the dialogues for MGR and Shivaji among the actors. It was on Gemini’s advice that Aroordas approached Sivaji about the opportunity for Basamalar. Thirukkural enchanted him with many words in the first meeting. After that, Basamalar became the narrator of the film. After that, Aururdas became Shivaji’s patron speaker. Aurdas has written for MGR and many films at Devar Films.
Both the films released at the same time and ran successfully. Thinking of giving it as a gift, both of them asked Arurdas what he wanted. He doesn’t want anything bro. Your love is enough. He gave the same answer to Shivaji who asked the same question. After that, both of them have given Auroordas name shield and medal in the same gold as told. Seeing this, Arurdas was shocked.
