Work on the new installment of the Dragon Age series dates back to 2015 and there is still no end in sight. The only noteworthy information so far has been the vague assurances of the developers about the work on the game and the initial announcement of the main antagonist. However, there is still a lack of at least a short gameplay record, or more specific screenshots. If we believe the latest reports, we’ll have to wait a little longer for the fourth part.

There are new reports provided by Insider Gaming regarding the Dragon Age: Dreadwolf project. They mainly cool down the optimistic forecasts as to the expected release date.

Some part of the rumors suggested until recently that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has a chance to appear later this year – or more precisely, somewhere around its end. This is contradicted by anonymous sources on Insider Gaming, emphasizing that many key aspects of the game are still to be finished. These include dialogue lines of the characters, there are also visible remnants from the previous version of the project, which was developed until 2021. Initially, the title was supposed to be based on multiplayer mode, but it was changed to a single player experience. The structure of the game is somewhat reminiscent of the situation in Destiny, where players have a central hub at their disposal, serving as a base for missions. This aspect will be invariably important for the new formula being developed in Dreadwolf.

As for the gameplay, some foundations from the previous installments of the series are to remain unchanged – led by the gradual enlargement of the team, whose members we will meet along the way. They will fill the aforementioned command center, where there will be an opportunity to take care of their equipment or special modifications. We will get to the missions through a special portal. As reported by one of the informants who was supposed to play the recent build, the fight is closer to hack’n’slash, drawing inspiration from Final Fantasy XV. Direct control over teammates is not possible, only the option to select the ability used by them during the skirmish will appear. The release date itself is currently unpredictable, but due to the numerous elements that need to be completed, there is a good chance that we won’t see Dragon Age: Dreadwolf before 2024.
