The Italian manufacturer has patented a development similar to one of the strange solutions of the Tesla Roadster.

In 2008, the Tesla Roadster opened a completely new chapter in the world of four-wheeled vehicles: Elon Musk’s company opened the door to the global automotive industry with this two-seater sports car, and since then it has become a dominant brand in the electric car market. The South African-born billionaire and his own Tesla Roadster is currently orbiting in space around the sun.

THE Tesla Roadster so it is not a modern model, it is no coincidence that the arrival of the second generation was already announced in 2017. Earlier we also wrote about the car, which on the one hand promises breakneck acceleration, in addition, according to the plans, a special device similar to a rocket engine would be installed, thanks to which the electric car will be able to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 1.1 seconds speed. In relation to the development, Elon Musk directly stated that the new Tesla Roadster will be able to fly for a short time – it does not hurt to treat this with reservations, because the head of the company also said earlier that Tesla’s astonishing-looking pickup, the Cybertruck can even be used as a ship for a short time.

Now it is InsideEVs reported that Ferrari would probably equip its future cars with a similar solution. The Italian luxury brand has recently become a so-called pulse jet submitted a patent application for the system.

The concept is reminiscent of Tesla’s idea: during the acceleration of cars, a powerful gas jet would also be activated, thanks to which the vehicle could reach the desired speed sooner than if only the rotation of the wheels accelerated the car. According to Musk, Tesla would use some kind of cold gas or compressed air in the first stages of acceleration from a standstill. At the time, the company manager also claimed that the Roadster would be able to float for a short time and, as if this were an important aspect, stay in the air longer than a conventional car.

Ferrari’s pulsejet system, on the other hand, according to the patent application, would help the driver not only in acceleration, but also in braking and handling the car. For this reason, tanks containing compressed air or some kind of liquid fuel would be installed in Italian sports cars in the nose, back and sides of the vehicles. According to the patent document, these would give the car a pneumatic boost in the right direction to compensate for the decelerating effect of the air coming in from the front.

So far, there is no information on when this technology may appear in Ferrari cars. As for the Tesla Roadster, not too much has been revealed about the second generation, so it is not possible to know when series production can start, but nothing can even be known about the unveiling of the prototype. Of course, this is not surprising in light of the fact that the Production of the Tesla Cybertruck after many delays, it may finally start in 2023.
