A year ago, in September 2021, British actor Stephen Critchlow passed away (“downton abbey“,”Trial and retribution“). He took part in the voice acting of a number of games, in particular, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Dragon Quest Heroes and Killzone 3.
In addition heavensward to an online role-playing game Final Fantasy 14 Critchlow voiced Count Edmond de Fortemps – and after his death, the players staged many hours of vigil in front of the estate where his hero lived, as a sign of respect.
How confessed actor Robert Harper, a longtime friend of Critchlow, was struck by how complete strangers paid tribute to the voice actor. He decided that he had to see it for himself – and he had to spend 149 hours in the trial version of Final Fantasy 14. Only after that, Harper was able to get to Ishgard and hear the voice of his dear friend.
After sharing his story with the community, the actor was shocked at how warmly he was received and how many players offered him any help. & Harper offers to gather again at Fortemps Manor on the anniversary of the death of Stephen Critchlow.
New vigils will take place on September 19, on the European Chaos server in the Phantom world. The meeting time is 20:00 Moscow time.
