The October Security Update for Samsung Galaxy S22 and S21 is Being Released Early.

Google releases a security patch and bug fix update for Pixel phones every month. The update usually goes live on the first Monday of each month. You’d think that since they are Pixels, they would be among the first to receive security updates.

That’s not the case, though, as Samsung typically releases monthly updates for its products before Google. And the security patch from October is continuing the same theme. Samsung has already issued the October 2022 update for the Galaxy S22 and S21 series, even though September hasn’t even ended yet.

With firmware version S90XU1UES2AVI5, unlocked Galaxy S22 models are getting the October 2022 security patch in the US. The update is also mentioned by Verizon on the Galaxy S22 support page, indicating that it will soon be accessible. The changelog claims that the release will deliver Android 13 and One UI 5 to the S22 series, but this is untrue.

The Galaxy S22 series’ October 2022 security patch currently only appears to be available in the US. But given what we know about Samsung, it shouldn’t take long for the upgrade to spread to other markets.

The October 2022 patch is also now accessible for unlocked Galaxy S21 models in the US and Germany according to Samsung. The business hasn’t yet changed its security updates bulletin. There is no way to know what security issues have been resolved until that time. The update should also resolve the issue where many Galaxy S21 and S22 owners were not getting incoming text messages, according to Verizon’s changelog for the upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Gets Security Patch

According to SamMobile, the South Korean manufacturer of smartphones Samsung has begun providing the Galaxy S21 FE with the Android security patch for October 2022. The update, which includes firmware version G990EXXU3CVI8, is currently accessible to users of the Galaxy S22 FE with model number SM-G990E in India. It’s anticipated that the deployment would extend to other nations as well.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, you may upgrade it to the most recent version of Android by going to the Settings app. Here, select Download and Install from the Software Update menu.

The sale of over 1.2 million Galaxy handsets, according to Samsung India, set a new record in India. The Galaxy smartphone line was among the most sought-after gadgets, according to Samsung, as a result of special discounts and promotions on Amazon and Flipkart.

Samsung sold Galaxy handsets on Amazon for more than INR 1,000 crore in a single day. Furthermore, the South Korean tech company asserts that Samsung was the top-selling smartphone brand on the first day of the Amazon Indian sale, with every third smartphone sold being a Galaxy.

Galaxy S20 FE 5G Receives October Security Patch

Last week, Samsung began distributing its October 2022 security update. The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 were the first devices to receive the update. The first handset in the Galaxy S20 series to receive the latest security update is the Galaxy S20 FE 5G,

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G’s most recent software update raises the phone’s firmware version to G781BXXU4FVI4 and is currently rolling out in Europe. Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, the Nordic nations, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Spain, The United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the Baltic region, and the Netherlands presently have access to the update.

Galaxy A11 Gets its Last Significant Software Update

The Galaxy A11 now has the Android 12 update from Samsung. Early in 2020, a low-cost smartphone running Android 10 was introduced. And it appears that the Android 12 release will be the final significant software update.

The firmware version for the Galaxy A11’s One UI Core 4.1 upgrade, which runs on Android 12, is A115FXXU3CVI3. Additionally, it includes the August 2022 security patch, which addresses numerous privacy and security flaws. The new software version is presently being distributed in Sri Lanka, and we anticipate it will soon spread to other nations as well.

Installing the update on your Galaxy A11 is possible if you reside in Sri Lanka. Tap Download and install under Settings » Software update. You can also manually flash the new firmware by downloading the file from our software database.

Google

Pixel 4 & 4 XL Receives its October Update

Google delivers its monthly Android upgrades for its compatible Pixel phones on the first Monday of the month, as you may already be aware. Naturally, a new update for the Pixel 4 and later smartphones is coming since it is the first Monday of the month.

This should be the final iteration of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, to speak of. If you’re still using one of these, it may be time to upgrade since this is the last update that these two are sure to receive. But wouldn’t you know it, Google is introducing a new series of Pixels this month.

Having said that, keep in mind that Google may really send out one last update to these devices in the upcoming weeks; it has a history of doing something similar.

A few audio-related fixes are included in the October update, including one for a problem that resulted in noise artifacts all through calls on wired headsets and another for a problem that rendered volume controls in media player notifications useless. There is also a fix for a problem that prevented Wi-Fi networks from appearing in the network selection menu.

Xiaomi

Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus Users in India get the Android 12 Update

In March, Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G in India. Despite being released in early 2022, the device debuted with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 11.

The smartphone is currently in the midst of the first significant update in the nation, 6 months after its debut. The most recent software update for the device eventually raises Android to version 12.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G has begun receiving the eagerly anticipated Android 12 update from Xiaomi in India. The phone’s new operating system upgrade is delivered with version number V13.0.1.0.SKCINXM.

The new features are not mentioned in the official changelog. It does, however, indicate that the software package includes security updates till August 2022. OTA system updates are currently being distributed in phases. In the upcoming days, it ought to reach all users.

All things considered, the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G still uses an old version of Android and earlier security updates. We don’t know if and when the device will receive an update to Android 13 at this rate.
