The new Chrome promises to improve performance on some devices.
Google has spent some time trying to make Chrome a faster and less resource-hungry browser than it has been for years, with the goal of improve its functioning on less powerful devices or that do not have plenty of resources. But Google is aware that a good number of browser users use high-end devicesfor which running Chrome should not be a problem, and its latest innovation is aimed at this type of terminal.
Through a post on the official Chromium blogGoogle reviews some of the changes that have been carried out with the latest available version of chromedirected to improve performance on high-end devicesto achieve performance improvements that can reach the 30%.
Chrome now works better on some Android and macOS devices
According to Google, from now on high-end devices will have a Google Chrome version with optimized build settings for faster speed instead of being smaller in size as is the case with lower resource devices.
Thus, the version of Chrome for high-end Android devices is capable of running one of the reference benchmarks when it comes to measuring the performance of browsers, speed test 2.1 (developed by the team behind Apple’s WebKit engine), to 30% faster than before.
This is a significant improvement, which will also benefit Chrome users on Mac, although in this case the increase is around a 10%.
All improvements are now available in the chrome version 113, which is currently in the testing phase. Coming soon to all users of the browser with an update to the stable version of Chrome for Android and macOS.
