Google Photos UI update makes it easier to share your photos – Phandroid

If you want to share photos using Google Photos, the current method involves selecting the photo by pressing and holding on it, or tapping on the photo to open it and then go to the options to share it. That is set to change as Google has pushed out a small update to Photos that should make sharing easier.

According to 9to5Google, they spotted what appears to be a server-side enabled update where Google has brought the sharing options down from the top to the bottom of the screen, as you can see in the screenshots below. This means that instead of selecting the share option from the top or opening the image, users can select the option from below.

Scrolling further down will also show suggested contacts that you can share the photo(s) with directly. This is a small improvement over the previous method where you had to search for the user manually, so this should save users some time and extra steps, especially if it’s a contact that they normally share their photos with.

Take note that not all devices with Google Photos are seeing these changes. As 9to5Google notes, it could either be a test to see how selected users respond to the new UI, or Google could be rolling it out in phases. So if you don’t see these changes to your Google Photos app, don’t worry too much about it.
