At the Google Cloud Next ’24 event, Alphabet announced a lot of new products. One of them is a new tool that will join the Google Workspace application suite, i.e. Docs, Drive, and the Meet service – the titular Google Vids. The solution will enable us to create simple video materials using a creator, with the help of the Gemini artificial intelligence model. We can easily change individual elements throughout the project.
Google Workspace will soon be enriched with a new service, Google Vids. This tool will allow us to create a short video in the form of a presentation from resources that may come from other applications such as Google Drive.
Google Bard – chatbot transforms into Gemini. The full potential is hidden behind a subscription wall
Google Vids is not a revolutionary solution. The novelty is intended to make it easier to create multimedia presentations in companies, because the entire process is limited to an absolute minimum. We choose the appropriate resources (photos, sound recordings, etc.), the visual style, and determine the content of the entire material, and the rest will be done for us. Of course, all the missing materials can be downloaded from the available Google database, so we will get a preliminary sketch with images, music and short films. The resulting video will resemble a presentation created in Microsoft PowerPoint, in which we can change each element on the timeline.
Gemini – Google presents a new, multimodal artificial intelligence model. Its capabilities are superior to ChatGPT
We can decide to use our voice in the project or use a ready-made solution, i.e. available voices that will read the entire text. Of course, everything can be done for us by the AI model from Google, i.e. Gemini – in this case we can use text commands. The service can create images and an entire script, so it will act as a virtual assistant in production. We can make the project available to other people who will not only have access to it, but will also be able to comment on it. Google Vids will be available in Workspace Labs in June 2024.
