Last year in 2017, Karthi and Rakul Preet Singh starrer movie “Theeran Akahamar Udu” was released. Many fans know that the film was directed by H. Vinod.
The film is based on the true incident of “Operation Bavaria” conducted by the Tamil Nadu Police. The film featured several scenes of brutal killings and robberies by a North Indian gang called Bavaria.
The film made a huge impact on the audience. There were even reports of a mob attacking a cloth merchant from North India under the influence of the film. In this situation, H. Vinod, who participated in an interview recently, has shared about the feeling of guilt caused by the movie “Theeran Akhamari Uttu”.
“Many people were upset that Theeran had an encounter scene in the movie. And in Thiran I got a psychological problem. I mean if somewhere a North Indian was attacked I felt very guilty.
An IAS officer asked me a question. ‘You won because you took a picture. But if someone beats up a North Indian doing business in Tamil Nadu, will you take responsibility?” he asked. This question made me feel guilty. I had a very difficult time during that period. It was this feeling of guilt that prompted him to create a character against Encounter in Strength,” H. Vinod had said in the interview.
