Here’s a look inside the new Apple Developer Center at Apple Park

We’re now just hours away from Apple streaming its WWDC22 opening keynote and showing off all the things, but some have already been at Apple Park to take in the sights. Those on deck nice and early have been sharing photos of the new Apple Developer Center.

Apple has allowed a relatively small number of developers to attend an otherwise virtual WWDC22 event in person and the new Apple Developer Center is the big new toy that the company is showing off. Developer Paul Hudson has been sharing photos and the od video of the new facility, complete with macOS-themed room names.

As you might expect, the rooms are “packed with technology” and a miniature Steve Jobs Theater of sorts, dubbed the Big Sur Theater, will give developers a chance to kick back and watch presentations on a big screen. That’s likely to also be where Apple will share the keynote video later today, too.

Apple’s WWDC22 opening keynote is expected to give us our first looks at iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, tvOS 16, and watchOS 9 while there is also talk of new hardware being shown off, too. A new MacBook Air seems most likely, while a 13-inch MacBook Pro could also break cover depending on which rumor you pay attention to. Both are set to use new Apple silicon — an M2, most likely to be the best Mac chip yet for those of us who don’t need Pro, Max, or Ultra speeds.

As the COVID-19 pandemic begins to settle down we can expect Apple to invite more people to the Apple Developer Center in due course and you get the feeling that this is a dry run of sorts. Some members of the press have also been invited to a streaming of the pre-recorded keynote, with a fully live event potentially in the cards for next year.
