Tomorrow, Honor is expected to unveil its next lineup of phones dubbed the Honor 60 series. Leading up to the event, we’ve learned quite a bit about what’s expected to come, including the specs for the standard Honor 60 and the 60 Pro.

Unlike the Honor 50, the company’s next lineup won’t bring a drastic redesign, as leaked renders show a more modest upgrade instead. In terms of specs, the Honor 60 (standard) will feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and “a high refresh rate”. Powering the device is expected to be the Snapdragon 778G, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

In terms of battery life, the Honor 60 will carry a 4,800mAh cell with support for up to 66W fast charging. The rear camera setup will be headlined by a 108MP sensor, along giant an 8MP ultra wide and a 2MP depth sensor. Other specs and features include the Honor 60 to make use of MagicUI 5.0 based on Android 11, while also including support for Bluetooth 5.2. Honor is said to release the latest device in three different colors — Bright Black, Starry Sky Blue, and Jade Green.

As for the Honor 60 Pro, there won’t be too many differences, aside from the larger 6.78-inch OLED display. The 60 Pro is also said to feature faster refresh rates, but there’s no indication as to whether Honor will use 90Hz or 120Hz (or something higher). The chipset for the device is also in question, as Honor could use either the same SD778G as the standard 60, or the Snapdragon 778G+ which offers high clock speeds. Configurations will be the same, with the 60 Pro coming in with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Battery life will take a bit of a hit with the smaller 4,500mAh cell, but the 60 Pro is also expected to offer up to 66W charging speeds. The trend of triple camera setups will continue, again headlined by a 108MP primary sensor. But the Honor 60 Pro will also feature a 50MP ultra wide lens that doubles as a macro camera, with a 2MP depth sensor rounding things out.

We’ll have to wait until Honor’s official announcement to learn more about pricing and availability. But it does appear as though Honor is gearing up to release a modest set of devices just in time for the 2021 holiday season.
