The low-voltage power distribution equipment of the sports complex in Szeged was provided by Siemens.
The Pick Aréna handball hall with more than 8,000 seats and a floor area of 28,000 square meters was handed over in December 2021 and made its debut at the 2022 European Men’s Handball Championship. The largest domestic multifunctional sports hall outside of Budapest won the Construction Excellence Award in 2022, and it is not only significant from the point of view of sports. The complex includes a training hall equipped with two training fields and stands for 1,500 people, an academy suitable for housing 25-30 children in high school boarding dormitories, and a conference hall for 80 people.
This is where the low-voltage switchgear of Siemens Zrt. has been proving itself for more than two years now. The contractor, West Hungária Bau Kft. (WHB), chose the complete, ready-mounted Siemens equipment, for which Siemens provided engineering support and consulting. The intelligent, safe and easy-to-use energy distribution system thus helps meet the requirements of the arena complex.
The world of sports arenas is no stranger to Siemens Zrt., its solutions are used in several major sports facilities across the country. Among them is the 15,000-seat National Athletic Center, which debuted last summer and has a capacity of 15,000 in basic operation, where the smooth operation of the electrical systems is also ensured by Siemens medium and low voltage provided by power distribution equipment.
