PR Vijayalakshmi, eldest daughter of PR Bandulu, has the distinction of being the first woman cinematographer not only in India but also in Asia. He worked as an assistant director to the famous cinematographer Ashok Kumar.

After that, he made his debut as a cinematographer with Bhagyaraj’s film “Chinna Veedu” released in 1985. After that, he worked as a cinematographer for many films like “Harvest Day”, “Jail Bird”, “Thekkatti Kallan”, “Malluveti Minor”.
He also directed the movie “Batu Padava” which was released in 1995. He has also directed the movie “Basket” and “Abiude Kathi Atamvindeyum” in Malayalam.

Another highlight about him is that he was the first director to use graphics technology in Tamil TV serials.
