At one stage the Indian team slowly started to rise from the slump. India’s run rate was around 3.5 in the first 20 overs and was around 6 in the next 10 overs. A lot of faith was placed on the Rohit-Rahul combination that rescued the team from the slump. However, both of them suddenly dropped their wickets. Rahul was dismissed for 39 off Willey and Rohit was dismissed for 87 off Adil Rashid. Even if Rohit doesn’t score a century, this will be an important innings in his career.
The Indian team stumbled as they lost wickets at a rapid pace. But Suryakumar Yadav realized the situation and played a little better than anyone expected and scored 49 runs. The tail-enders also contributed a bit as India reached a somewhat respectable score of 229-9.
