The processor has a maximum Turbo clock of 6.2 GHz (200 MHz more than the Core i9-14900K). The base TDP of the unit is 150 W, but the maximum power consumption may be around 430 W. The latest Intel CPU was tested in Cinebench and y-cruncher. The DeepCool LS720 SE liquid cooling system was used. Before scalping, the temperatures were 85 °C and 89 °C, respectively. Power consumption in Cinebench reached 376 W, while in the y-cruncher application it was as much as 432 W. After scalping, both lower temperatures and lower power consumption were achieved. Ultimately, Cinebench recorded 75 °C and 366 W. The difference was 10 °C and 10 W. In the y-cruncher program, the temperatures dropped to 82 °C and the power consumption dropped to 409 W. This means a difference of 7 °C and 23 W. Intel Core i9-14900KS is equipment designed for enthusiasts for whom performance is in the foreground. It is therefore doubtful that high operating temperatures and power consumption will be factors that will discourage them from purchasing the equipment in question. However, scalping can be useful when it comes to breaking overclocking records.
