LEGO 2K Drive is the first title created as part of the cooperation between the publisher 2K Games and the LEGO Group. The Visual Concepts studio, i.e. the authors of the WWE 2K and NBA 2K series, is responsible for its development. According to the announcement, the game is to offer a large, open world and numerous side activities. In addition to revealing the release date, the first trailer was made available. Attention is drawn to the advanced system of destruction of elements of the environment and the freedom of exploration.

LEGO 2K Drive will debut on May 19, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.

Contrary to appearances, LEGO 2K Drive is not focused only on racing. The developers focused heavily on preparing a number of side activities and diversifying the game world. In order to start a new mission or race, you must first reach it. The available space was divided into biomes, differing in appearance and terrain. In single-player mode, you first need to create a driver and build your own vehicle – there are over a thousand elements known from LEGO sets. Moreover, the driving model is to change depending on the type of transport. During the competition, players will be able to earn additional bonuses that will give them an advantage over the other participants in the race.

In the presented trailer, we can see that LEGO 2K Drive is distinguished by an advanced destruction system. Almost all elements of the environment are destroyed, and the bricks obtained in this way will be used to repair the damaged vehicle. In multiplayer mode, players will be able to compete or cooperate with each other, and split-screen gameplay will also be available. LEGO 2K Drive will debut on May 19 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch. People who decide to buy a richer version (Awesome Edition or Awesome Rivals Edition) will receive virtual add-ons and start playing three days before the premiere.
