Mass production of the Slovak-developed flying car can begin

Aircar’s license was bought by a Chinese company.

In the past two decades, the areas of technology affecting transportation have started to develop unstoppably. On the one hand, representatives of the sector are making huge efforts in the direction of emission-free technologies, and on the other hand, the development of passenger vehicles traveling in the air has also been on the agenda for some time.

Although there are plans and attempts to spread the use of these futuristic devices in everyday life, so far none of the interested companies has managed to start mass production of their own developed flying vehicle. Now it looks like one of them might make it.

The manufacturer of the transport device called Aircar, KleinVision, recently announced that it has sold the license for its self-developed flying car. Hebei Jianxin Flying Car Technology Co., which purchased the patent, will exclusively manufacture the product in an as-yet-unnamed region of China.

The Slovakian startup already has an airworthiness certificate for its technology, which transforms from car to plane in less than three minutes. The Aircar had to complete 70 hours of flight tests and more than 200 take-offs and landings to obtain its certification.

The vehicle has already successfully flown between large cities. The car in hybrid mode flew from Nitra to Bratislava in 2021. The Aircar covered a distance of 75 kilometers as the crow flies in 35 minutes using only a 1600cc BMW engine. The car has a top speed of 300 km/h and a range of 1,000 kilometers.

KleinVision’s next step is now to obtain the CS-32 certificate from the European Aviation Safety Agency, which is necessary to lift the restrictions on the number of production units. Anton Zajac, the co-founder of the startup, said that the Aircar will also receive an engine development, with the help of which the performance can be even double that of the current one.

Despite the fact that this will increase the travel speed, according to the developers, it will shorten the distance required for take-off and also increase the safety of the product. No information was leaked about how much money the license changed hands for.
