1950 movie “Mandri Kumari” starring MGR, Madhuri Devi and Nambiar. The film was directed by Ellis R Duncan. Artist M. Karunanidhi has written the story for this film.

DR Sundaram, the producer of the film, signed MGR as the lead. But director Ellis R. Duncan was not interested in casting MGR.
