Need for Speed Unbound not only with DLSS 3 but also with FSR 2.2. Saints Row, in turn, received an update adding AMD FSR 2.1

Need for Speed Unbound not only with DLSS 3 but also with FSR 2.2. Saints Row, in turn, received an update adding AMD FSR 2.1On December 2, the next installment of the popular races in the form of Need for Speed Unbound will appear on store shelves. The production of Criterion studio under the baton of Electronic Arts will appear on PC and current generation consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. We’ve known for a long time that the premiere version of the game will offer support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology. It turns out that the developers also managed to implement a solution from AMD – FSR in the latest version 2.2 before the premiere. The possibility of adding Intel XeSS is also being explored.

Need for Speed Unbound offers not only support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 technology, but also AMD FSR 2.2. In addition, the developers are testing the capabilities of Intel XeSS. In turn, Saints Row received an update for PC, adding support for FSR 2.1.

The trend to implement various image upscaling techniques is becoming more and more visible on the computer games market. Need for Speed Unbound was announced from the beginning as a game with NVIDIA DLSS support in the latest version (DLSS 2 will be available for all GeForce RTX cards, while DLSS 3 will only be available for GeForce RTX 4000 owners). In interview with the WCCFTech portal, developers from the Criterion studio also confirmed the information on the support for AMD FSR 2.2 (and thus the latest version). The implementation of FidelityFX Super Resolution took place shortly before the game’s release, and AMD engineers also helped implement the solution. The studio also noted cooperation with Intel to be able to add support for Intel XeSS technology in one of the future updates. At the same time, the developers confirmed that Need for Speed Unbound does not and will not have any form of Ray Tracing.

However, Need for Speed Unbound is not the only game that receives support for AMD FSR 2. An update for the PC version has also been prepared for Saints Row, which debuted a few months ago. Studio Voliton has confirmed that the latest patch introduces support for AMD FSR exactly in version 2.1, which should bring a noticeable increase in performance. Developers are more and more willing to use similar solutions that have already been used, e.g. to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales or The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (next-gen).
