New Mass Effect – what do the mysterious videos published by BioWare on the occasion of N7 Day reveal?

BioWare studio has already confirmed in 2021 that the Mass Effect brand will be continued and we will receive a new game in the series. We will have to wait a few years for its premiere, because Dragon Age: Dreadwolf will be the first to debut on the market. Meanwhile, BioWare once again decided to have fun with fans on the occasion of a cyclical holiday called N7 Day and for this purpose, several encrypted messages were released. What was posted on social channels?

On the occasion of N7 Day, BioWare studio once again had fun with fans. As part of successive encrypted messages, a short video was published, most likely presenting the heroine of the new Mass Effect. It was also suggested again to combine plot threads from two galaxies – the Milky Way and Andromeda.

All the fun started with news published by BioWare studio. A seemingly ordinary text, but on the other hand very strongly focusing on unfinished threads from the original trilogy. BioWare asks itself what happened to our favorite Asari (Liara T’Soni) and “S…”, which of course refers to Commander Shepard. Developers also ask what happened to the Galaxies, who really died and who ultimately has a child with whom. Seemingly ordinary questions, however, indicate that these threads will be continued to some extent in the new game, and we will learn the answers to the above questions. The message also contained a binary code that was decrypted quite quickly by the community. The EPSILON password revealed the first Internet domain where we waited for the message to be decrypted. The site was unlocked at 7 p.m., posting the first of three video teasers and some cryptic messages. The last line reminds us of Liara’s conversation with the mysterious Geth (this dialogue was published a year ago, as part of N7 2022), during which our Asari talks about how the Galaxy should not underestimate the Human race. In addition, the messages reveal that an equally mysterious distress signal was sent from the Andromeda Galaxy in 2819, a desperate cry for help.

BioWare once again indicates that in the new Mass Effect we will receive plot threads combining two Galaxies presented so far: the Milky Way and Andromeda. This time, the community quickly decrypted the message and found the second code: OCULON-2819-DEFIANCE (2819 in this case may mean the year in which the new Mass Effect begins; as a reminder, Mass Effect Andromeda begins in 2818; DEFIANCE literally means rebellion, Therefore, we will probably witness the revolt of the Human race – all or only part of it). The obtained data gave us access to a second website, where we had to wait for another decoding. At 8 p.m. the content of the page was published, and there was, above all, a second video presenting a fast-moving female figure.

Shortly afterwards, we received access to the third – and last – page with the slogan “POST-NEBULA” and another clock, this time counting down to 10 p.m. After deciphering the last message, we received full video footage presenting a female figure in futuristic N7 armor. The trailer, although very short, confirms that the game will take place far into the future, most likely around the time of Mass Effect: Andromeda. However, who the mysterious woman from the video is is a big question mark. The community has divided into three camps here – some suggest that it is Liara who joined the ranks of the Specters. Others are convinced that we are seeing a female version of Shepard on screen. The third group assumes that this character is the daughter of Liara T’Soni and Commander Shepard.
