Nothing Phone (2) – official premiere of a smartphone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and improved Glyph interface

Nothing Phone (2) - official premiere of a smartphone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and improved Glyph interfaceNothing is a relatively new player in the mobile devices market, and yet it managed to gain a large group of satisfied customers. It’s not hard to be surprised, because for a long time in the world of smartphones, almost everyone looked the same. This trend was broken by the first Nothing Phone, offering a transparent back with an integrated notification system based on illuminated panels. Its successor has just debuted. Will it be just as successful?

The successor to the quite well-received Nothing Phone smartphone has just made its debut. Model number 2 brings several changes to the design and better performance, although this is at the expense of price.

The biggest changes can be seen on the back of the smartphone, which has received several improvements. From now on, the elements that make up it have been divided, so there are many more configuration options. Moving on to the front, you can notice a larger screen, which also has better specifications. The front is covered by a 6.72-inch OLED LTPO panel (i.e. with a variable refresh rate, from 1 – 120 Hz) with a resolution of 2412 x 1080 px and a peak brightness of 1600 nits. This time we also have support for the HDR10 + standard. In terms of the processor, we will meet one of the top chips from Qualcomm – Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is complemented by the Adreno 730 graphics chip, up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of flash memory.

Nothing Phone (2) – we know more and more about the smartphone. It will not only be more efficient, but also slightly larger than its predecessor

Moving on to the eyes of the cameras: the front camera was moved to the middle, while the Sony IMX615 model with a resolution of 32 MP is responsible for it. On the other hand, the main 50 MP camera (Sony IMX890) with optical image stabilization and a wide-angle lens – the same as in the predecessor – are located on the back. We will also get a more capacious battery (4700 mAh), which has support for higher charging power (45 W). In terms of wireless connectivity, we will be able to use Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and 5G networks. The smartphone, despite its larger size, has a slightly higher weight than the “one”. The pre-sale itself will start on July 17, while if you want to buy the device in Poland, we will have to wait until July 21. We can pre-order on manufacturer’s official website. The prices for the cheapest 8/128 GB model start at PLN 2,990 and end at PLN 3,790 (12/512 GB). So we are dealing with a significant price jump, which is somewhat justified by the specification and functionality.
