I think you’ll agree that the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is one of the least profitable NVIDIA graphics cards from the Ampere generation. This system offers only slightly higher performance than the standard RTX 3070, while its price is much higher. However, there is no doubt that additional gigabytes of VRAM on board would certainly improve the reception of this card. As it turns out, such a unit was almost on the market.
The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB is 25 / 30 MHz faster than the RTX 3070 Ti with 8GB VRAM, but has slower GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X. The leaker did not provide any data on the performance of this card, but you can see that it works with current drivers.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB – the announcement of the new-old Ampere graphics card has been postponed
At the end of 2021, there was a lot of talk about the upcoming premiere of the GeForce RTX 3080 12 GB cards and the RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB. Ultimately, only the former saw the light of day, but this does not mean that the latter model was just a media invention. His photos have just appeared on the web, which prove that the system was really about to debut, although at the last minute the manufacturer made a different decision (perhaps due to the delayed premiere of the Intel ARC A770 16 GB card?). As you can see in the attached graphics, the prototype of the discussed GeForce was created in the Founders Edition version with two fans and at first glance it does not stand out with anything special. It is only worth paying attention to the incorrect marking on the plate covering the laminate (the note Ti is missing).
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER and MSI GeForce RTX 3080 20GB Ventus – a glance at never released graphics cards
GPU-Z shows that the card’s base clock is set to 1590 MHz and the boost clock is 1800 MHz. The unit is therefore 25 and 30 MHz faster than the RTX 3070 Ti with 8 GB VRAM, respectively, but has slower GDDR6 memory instead of GDDR6X – this means lower bandwidth (512 GB / s vs 608 GB / s). The leaker did not provide any data on the performance of this card, but you can see that it works with current drivers. Well, players can only regret now that the chip never hit the market.
