Review of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 band. Cheap smartband with heart rate and SpO2 measurement. Good for training and everyday use

Review of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 band. Cheap smartband with heart rate and SpO2 measurement. Good for training and everyday useThere are many accessories that can be worn on the wrist. Some people like to wear an elegant mechanical watch that also serves as jewelry. Others prefer digital watches because they need additional functions, such as multiple alarms, radio time synchronization or solar charging. You can wear such a watch for up to a dozen years without having to worry about replacing the battery or setting the time. There are also those for whom working time is not so important, but prefer to have many more training and health monitoring functions, as well as notifications and a touch display. Such people usually choose smartwatches or sports watches. In addition, there is another group that needs an optimal combination of functions, operating time, comfort, style and low price. These people often choose smartbands, also known as fitness bands. One of the latest models is the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3.

Theoretically smartband is a much simpler accessory than smartwatch, but if we look at it from the profitability perspective, it’s surprising how much we get for a modest PLN 279, because that’s how much the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 costs. Bright and legible AMOLED touch display, over 100 watch faces, always-on display option (AOD) ), tracking over 100 types of training, automatic activity detection, heart rate monitor, blood oxygenation measurement, pedometer, sleep monitoring, remote control of the camera and music player, receiving notifications from a smartphone, detecting falls, sending SOS information, weather forecast, calendar, alarm, stopwatch , timer, calculator, world time, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, “find my phone” function, IP68 water resistance (5 ATM), good build quality, very light construction, comfortable and replaceable strap and theoretically up to 13 days of operation on a single charge. In practice, working time looks a bit different. You will read about it in this review.

Very comfortable strap, light, well-made and waterproof design, very readable AMOLED display, comfortable touch operation and many different functions and training. These are just some of the advantages of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 band. There are also some disadvantages. You will read about them in this review.

Samsung Galaxy S24 smartphone test – a charming flagship with Exynos 2400 on board. A small step forward compared to the Galaxy S23

Sure, you can buy cheaper wristbands that are also very functional and nice. Let’s take Huawei Band 8, which is about PLN 30 cheaper, or Xiaomi Smart Band 8, which costs over PLN 100 less, but Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro is at a price similar to Galaxy Fit 3. However, it cannot be denied that the Samsung brand has a very large fan base and many people use their smartphones, so there is a good chance that instead of buying a smartband from another company, they will want to choose Galaxy Fit 3 to have full compatibility and data synchronization with the Samsung ecosystem. In this context, a slight additional payment may be justified, and the price of PLN 279 can easily be considered attractive. It is worth mentioning here that if you buy the described wristband until March 10, 2024, you can get a refund of PLN 80, so the real cost will be about PLN 200. Is it possible to find any deficiencies in the Galaxy Fit 3 band? Sure. There is no NFC here, so you can’t use it to pay contactlessly in stores. The lack of a built-in GPS receiver may also be a problem for some, but usually if someone wants navigation or a GPS altimeter, they prefer a sports watch or smartwatch. Fit 3 can use your smartphone’s GPS indirectly.

The smartband is offered in three colors: silver with a white stripe, black (actually dark gray) and rose gold. I chose the last version to test, which, as you can guess, is aimed more at women (it doesn’t suit my taste). It is worth adding that Samsung offers 3 alternative straps for the Galaxy Fit: dark green and orange. Therefore, you should carefully consider the choice of the base color version, because in my opinion, both orange and green go well with the silver smartband, and to some extent also with black, but personally I think that they do not match pink gold so well.
