We probably all know it (although we forget about it in winter) – illegibility, especially of cheaper smartphones in full sun, can be really annoying. The most expensive flagships deal with this issue not too badly, but it is enough to appear on a sunny beach in the middle of summer for their displays to be averagely readable. Fortunately, the development of technology does not stop for a moment and it seems that this problem will soon disappear.
Samsung at CES 2023 presented an OLED display for smartphones, which is to offer a brightness of over 2000 nits.
Samsung MICRO LED TVs in sizes from 50 inches will go on sale in 2023
A smartphone display that is not afraid of even the most beautiful day in the middle of summer? It seems that Samsung has developed just such a thing. At the ongoing CES 2023 fair, the Koreans presented a display that reaches over 2,000 nits at its peak brightness (for comparison, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro reaches a maximum of about 1,700 nits, and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra – about 1,250 nits).
The premiere of Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones has been postponed. We have a few more weeks to wait
Samsung’s title display is an OLED that boasts a UDR (Ultra Dynamic Range) solution and ultimately achieves a brightness similar to that of the latest Korean TV sets. As you surely know, the premiere of the Samsung Galaxy S23 smartphones has been postponed to the end of February, so it’s not surprising that many people expect to see these ultra-bright panels in upcoming galaxies. The speculations are all the more justified that at one time a rumor leaked into the network that the S23 models were actually supposed to offer a screen brightness of 2200 nits.
