Shankar, who is emerging as a great director not only in Tamil cinema but also in Indian cinema, made his debut as a director with the movie “Gentleman”. Shankar became a major hit director of Tamil cinema in his very first film. At this stage, an interesting information about the movie “Gentleman” has come out.
Director Shankar initially worked as an assistant director under SA Chandrasekhar, a leading director of Tamil cinema. At that time director Pavithran was also working as an assistant director at SAC.
After that, Pavithran came out of SAC and directed the movie “Vasanthakala Parivi”. Following the success of this film, Pavithran also directed the film “Suryan”. Sarathkumar is the hero in both these movies.
Shankar started working with Pavithran as an associate director after his exit from SAC. In this situation, after the movie “Suryan”, Shankar decided to direct a film alone and wrote the story of “Gentleman”.
He had already worked as an associate director in Sarathkumar’s movie “Suriyaan” and had already met Sarathkumar. So on the advice of his assistant A. Venkatesh, Shankar approached Sarathkumar for the film “Gentleman”.
The story of “Gentleman” was very popular with Sarathkumar. But till then Shankar did not approach any producer. As such, director Pavithran had already directed a few films under producer Kunjumon’s production.
However, at some point Kunjumon and Bavithran felt remorse. At that time, A. Venkatesh told Shankar, “Let’s take the story of the gentleman to Gunjumon.” But Shankar had a reluctance.
In other words, he thought that how can we use this remorse for his own profit when his Gurunath, Bavithran and Kunjumon, felt remorse. But to encourage A. Venkatesho Shankar, Shankar went and met Kunjumon.
Kunjumon liked Shankar’s story and immediately gave him a certain amount as an advance. But at the same time, Pavithran has approached Sarathkumar for a contract in the movie “I Love India”.
Will you say OK to Pavithran, who has already given a huge hit “Suryan” with himself? Or will you say OK to Shankar, who is a new director? Sarathkumar was confused. However, Sarathkumar said OK to Pavithran, who had already given a hit with him.
After that, Shankar approached many actors including Navarasa hero Karthik for the movie “Gentleman”. However, somehow Arjun agreed to act in the film. Many movie buffs know that the movie was a huge success.
