The first Hungarian manual therapy solution uploaded to the blockchain was born

Blockchain-based solutions are adopted one by one by large multinational companies, regardless of industry.

There are many ideas, processes or knowledge circulating in the entire spectrum of the business world that could even become protected patents with a small investment. Many of them do not find their rightful place in the domestic and international research, development and innovation space, so they live without protection or end their careers permanently. Thanks to the unlimited access provided by the Internet, the domestic small and medium-sized business sector is also starting to discover blockchain-based solutions, which provide an immediate opportunity to prove whose intellectual product the given procedure actually is. A good example of this is the Mozgásklínika’s therapeutic concept uploaded to the blockchain, the Mozgáspiramis, which may even become a patent in the near future – SZTNH informed Computerworld.

Internet-based technological development is not only slowing down, but also becoming more and more dynamic. Blockchain-based solutions are adopted one by one by large multinational companies, regardless of industry. There are already several car manufacturers – and they are the largest – that follow the service intervals of each vehicle on the blockchain, but in addition to industrial users, the solution has also appeared in the health industry, mobile communication and the world of arts.

The question is, how will this international trend affect the world’s patent procedures, will it multiply them or will it force patent organizations to innovate technologically? The fact is that there are 3 main sectors in terms of innovation: the military, the automobile, and the health industry, which means that the Earth’s population is globally spending more and more on its own protection, mobilization, and health. As far as health industry patents are concerned, the number of them in Hungary has increased significantly in recent years, which clearly shows their innovative capacity. Based on the 2022 data (aggregating national and enforced European patents), there are approximately 35,000 valid patents in Hungary. In the field of patents, the pharmaceutical industry has received the largest number of patent applications from the pharmaceutical industry for years: the National Office of Intellectual Property (SZTNH) currently has around 12,000 patents related to the pharmaceutical industry.

Mozgásklinika is a domestic innovative healthcare provider that recognized the innovation, business and knowledge sharing opportunities inherent in the field of physical therapy. Physiotherapist and manual therapist Rita Szentiványi created the Movement Pyramid by summarizing and evaluating her practical experience of more than two decades. Rita Szentiványi emphasized:

“There are times when a technological discovery initiates innovation and sometimes it is the accumulated experience. The Movement Pyramid itself must be imagined as the famous Maslow’s pyramid; it only summarizes the laws and mechanisms of action of the healing and rehabilitation of movement defects characteristic of the human body. a therapeutic concept based on experience, the effectiveness of which cannot be doubted!”

The concept of Mozgáspiramis was uploaded to the blockchain for the first time, which means that it is verifiably the first Hungarian manual therapy new mental product in the virtual space. Of course, the goal is for the Motion Pyramid to become protected by the National Intellectual Property Office, but that will be the result of a longer process. Gyula Pomázi, president of SZTNH, explained:

“We not only take care of and protect the newly created Hungarian intellectual products, but we ourselves are open to the introduction of innovative technologies at the system level. One of the great challenges of the future is how to integrate blockchain solutions into domestic and international intellectual property protection. In this regard, we are also proactive actors we want to become, in fact, we already have innovative, even blockchain-based solutions that are widely available.”
