The Game Awards 2023 – the most prestigious plebiscite in the industry is approaching. We got to know this year’s nominees

The most anticipated titles have already appeared, so the great summaries of the year have begun. The Golden Joystick Awards 2023 is behind us, which confirmed the primacy of the lauded third installment of Baldur’s Gate 3. But definitely more people are waiting for what will come in early December. What’s more, The Game Awards is not only the announcement of the winners, but also many interesting announcements of upcoming games. For now, the nominations have finally appeared.

Nominations for The Game Awards 2023 did not bring any great sensations. Baldur’s Gate 3 is leading the way alongside Alan Wake II, followed closely by the second part of Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Larian Studios has a good chance of significantly increasing its award winnings, but it doesn’t have to be easy. At least in a few categories they may be overtaken by the excellent and long-awaited title Remedy, and in the fight for the game of the year they have to take into account not only them, but also such hits as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, or The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Starfield was missing from this elite group, but Bethesda’s game will compete for the title of the best RPG game.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty may also fight for further awards. The title received four nominations – exactly as many as the well-received Final Fantasy XVI – including for the narrative, and Idris Elba’s performance as Agent Solomon Reed was also appreciated. However, the Hollywood star is not guaranteed to win – after all, Neil Newbon stands in his way with his brilliant role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, and Melanie Liburd, who keeps up with Alan Wake himself, also seems to have a chance.
