Thanks to the Google Assistant, you can avoid one of the most annoying situations that can happen to you during a vacation.
Maybe the next time a vacation or holiday is coming up, the google assistant going to avoid one of the most annoying situations that could happen to you: that the mobile alarm starts ringing in the morning, despite not having to go to work or school.
This has been discovered by several users of Reddit who, as a holiday approaches, have received a google assistant prompt pointing out the possibility of disable or change the alarm to prevent it from ringing the next day.
The mobile alarm will no longer wake you up on your day off
As has been indicated in 9to5Google, this feature was introduced alongside the March Android update on Google Pixel devices, as a new option built into the “At a Glance” widget. Since such a widget integrates with Google Assistant, you can get relevant information such as alarms set by the user.
In this way, the Google Assistant can combine calendar information with alarms configured by the user, to show a notification warning about a holiday, and suggesting to the user change the alarm time to prevent it from waking the user up at the time they would normally wake up for work or school.
It is striking that Google has decided to implement this function in the Assistant, and not in the clock app of Android, which also integrates with the Google Assistant and has access to calendar information. In any case, it is a particularly useful function.
Since this option is integrated into the Google Pixel “At a Glance” widget, it will most likely only be available on Google phones. Owners of the rest of the models will have to wait for Google to decide to extend its availability to a greater number of devices.
