Microsoft is the new one With the introduction of Dynamics 365 Copilot is officially incorporating artificial intelligence into its business applications. The company says the app’s AI update will use Copilot for automation that “allows everyone to spend more time on the best parts of their jobs and less on mundane tasks.”

“Dynamics 365 Copilot leverages the latest advances in generative AI to automate these tedious tasks and unleash the full creativity of your workforce. Dynamics 365 Copilot puts both CRM and ERP at work to support business users to accelerate accelerate the pace of innovation and improve business outcomes across all lines of business,” said Charles Lamanna, head of business applications and platforms at Microsoft.

The new AI integration covers various Microsoft applications, including Dynamics 365 Sales, Viva Sales, Dynamics 365 Customer Service, Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, Dynamics 365 Marketing, Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Supply Chain Center. With the help of Copilot, these services will automate various tasks, especially the repetitive work that involves sales and customer service.

For example, Microsoft Supply Chain Center can proactively identify external issues that may impact key supply chain processes. It then provides insight into the affected orders and an email is automatically generated to alert business partners to take action to prevent further issues.

According to Microsoft, the data that will be used for these automated tasks will come from relevant sources such as the vendor’s CRM, ERP, recorded call estimates from Teams, data entered by marketers themselves, the company’s existing marketing emails , the latest data from the web and other company data. However, Microsoft emphasized that no customer data is used in any way to train the models.

The announcement is part of the software company’s push to integrate even more AI into its products and services after confirming the third phase of its investment in OpenAI. Along with this AI update to its suite of business apps, Microsoft continues to further develop Bing and Edge, which are now equipped with AI capabilities and tools. Microsoft recently added the new Bing to the Windows taskbar search bar, but removed it after a few days. That said, it has introduced significant improvements to its Bing chatbot with the introduction of a new rev counter and chat tones introduced last week.
