The Quake brand can look forward to returning to the gaming market, as evidenced by materials from Xbox Developer_DirectThe Quake brand has so far had five main installments: Quake, Quake II, Quake III Arena, Quake IV and Quake Champions. The latter is unofficially referred to as the fifth part. It was released in 2017 as part of early access, and since 2018 it has been offered for free. In the meantime, Bethesda released Quake II Remaster (not to be confused with Quake II RTX, which was created in cooperation with NVIDIA and was intended to show the possibilities of Path Tracing). It looks like Bethesda has plans for the return of the iconic franchise with a new game.

The Quake brand can look forward to a return to the video game market. During the presentation of the game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, MachineGames studio showed a board with the truncated inscription Quake 6 and the brand’s logo.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – gameplay from the Microsoft and MachineGames game. Competition for Tomb Raider and Uncharted

Microsoft’s first show for 2024 took place on Thursday evening. We are talking about Xbox Developer_Direct, where we learned the details of games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avoved and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. It turns out that the show by MachineGames (Indiana Jones) could have timidly announced another project being worked on by developers responsible for the latest Wolfenstein installments. We are talking about Quake, which has not had any full-fledged release in recent years.

Quake II Remaster available for free to people who have the original version of the game on Steam or GOG

The inscription “AKE 6” and the clearly visible Quake logo appeared on the white board in the studio. It is difficult to consider this a coincidence, so we can cautiously assume that work on a new game in the series has started (or has been ongoing for some time). There can be two scenarios in this case. The first is that MachineGames is developing the entire game, both in terms of the single-player campaign and the multiplayer mode. The second scenario assumes that MachineGames cooperates with, for example, id Software on the title. Earlier, there were reports that the second mentioned company was working on a new DOOM. Perhaps Bethesda came to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to offer new games from the DOOM and Quake series alternately. At the moment, however, these are only speculations.
