Stocks stored together in the new warehouse allow the central bodies to react more quickly and the logistical support of the operations can be started sooner.

The BM National Directorate General for Disaster Management (OKF), built with HUF 420 million European Union funding, was handed over new logistics warehouse this week in Budapest. OKF wrote in its announcement that the first hall built from a European Union project was handed over to the Disaster Management XVII at the end of 2019. in the area of the central warehouse base in the district, this has now been expanded with a 790 square meter, six-meter ceiling height, heatable, lightweight hall. If the new hall is completely filled, then almost seven hundred pallets can be placed in it.

The heating and electrical energy supply of the hall can be partly ensured with solar panels installed on the roof of the storage building that does not require significant maintenance. The hall was equipped with a racking system suitable for forklift and pallet loading, interior lighting, and electric warehouse gates that help loading, receiving and issuing goods. The organization also acquired two electric forklifts in the project.

According to the OKF, defense materials and equipment that are part of the Ministry of the Interior’s state provisions, materials stored for the National Fire Prevention Committee, and materials and equipment for flood protection and inland water protection will be brought here from the outdated warehouse in Sződliget.

Stocks stored together in the new warehouse allow the central bodies to react more quickly and the logistical support of the operations can be started sooner.

In the announcement, firefighter colonel József Pásztor, director of the Economic Supply Center, was quoted as saying that by expanding the concrete surfaces of the warehouse base, it would be possible to store containers and vehicles, and in order to replace the current buildings, the construction of a new warehouse could also be considered.
