Vivo X Fold+: vivo's most advanced foldable brings a new processor, better screens and more battery

Not even a year has passed since the launch of the vivo X Fold, the Chinese company’s first folding smartphone. But vivo is now ready to launch the Improved version from his foldable star with a more powerful processor, higher quality screens, more battery and other improvements that come along with the vivo X Fold+.

This version has been presented today in China, and it is likely that, like the previous one, it will remain exclusive to that market. As of today, there are no indications to suggest that vivo intends to bring its new folding smartphone to other regions of the world.

vivo X Fold+

The new vivo X Fold+ debuts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

The new vivo X Fold retains the design of the previous version for the most part. It’s about a large format folding in the style of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, with two screens: a folding interior of 8.03 inches with 2K+ resolution, 120 hertz refresh rate with LTPO 3.0 technology and OLED technology; and one 6.53 inch outer, Full HD + with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, also OLED. Both screens have 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader integrated.

Although the design is traced, vivo has wanted to give a touch of color to its folding, with a vegan leather finish in two of the variants of the device: Red and blue. The black model retains the aluminum and glass construction.

Vivo X Fold Plus Cameras

There are four cameras on the back of the vivo X Fold+.

One of the great changes that this model brings is inside: from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 of the original X Fold, we now have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1backed by Android 12 and a slightly larger battery, from 4700mAhwhich retains wired charging up to 80W, and wireless charging up to 40W.

The camera system has not changed: It has a 50 megapixel Samsung GN5 main sensor on its back, along with a 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with two optical magnifications, and an 8-megapixel sensor with periscope-type optics, which enables optical zoom of up to five times.

In China, the new X Fold + can be purchased at an official price that starts from 9999 yuan, about 1447 euros to change in its version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. It can already be found on the brand’s Chinese website
