Watch Peter Pan & Wendy for Free?

I would not advise anyone to use illegal streams. Instead, you can sign up for Disney+ for a small initial fee and then cancel before you are charged for the month following.

This will give you access to Peter Pan & Wendy and all the other great content that Disney+ has to offer.

Occasionally, Disney+ opens up its streaming service for free. This has happened a few times since the service launched, like when they allowed non-subscribers to watch FREE GUY (21 Sep 2021) so it’s worth keeping an eye out for.

If a free day/weekend is announced, be sure to sign up and take advantage of it!

What is Peter Pan & Wendy About?

Peter Pan was written by JM Barrie, a Scottish author and playwright. The character of Peter Pan first appeared in Barrie’s 1902 novel, The Little White Birdand later in his 1904 play, Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.

The story of Peter Pan has since become a beloved classic and has been adapted into various forms of media, including films, stage productions, and children’s books.

So what will the latest Disney adaptation be about? This is a story that draws inspiration from the classic 1953 animated film.

The timeless tale follows the journey of a young girl, Wendy, who doesn’t want to grow up and embarks on an adventure to the enchanting Neverland with her two younger brothers.

Along the way, she encounters a boy who refuses to age, a tiny fairy, and a menacing pirate captain.

Together, they embark on a thrilling and perilous expedition, leaving behind their family and familiar comforts to explore the distant and magical world of Neverland.

Disney+ tends to produce high-quality content, so we do not doubt that Peter Pan & Wendy will be a hit!

Who Owns The Rights To Peter Pan and Wendy?

The rights to Peter Pan and Wendy are owned by the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) in London.

In 1929, JM Barrie gifted the rights to the story to the hospital, and they have been benefiting from the royalties ever since.

The copyright of the original story expired in most countries in 1987, but in the UK and a few other countries, the copyright was extended until 2023 through special legislation known as the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA).

Therefore, Great Ormond Street Hospital still holds the rights to the original story in those countries. However, adaptations and derivatives of the story, such as movies, TV shows, and merchandise, may have separate copyright owners.

The amount of money that the Hospital makes from the rights to Peter Pan and Wendy is not publicly disclosed, and it is difficult to estimate because it depends on various factors, such as the sales and distribution of books, merchandise, and adaptations of the story .

However, it is known that the royalties from the story have been a significant source of income for GOSH for many years.

In 2019, it was reported that GOSH had received over £16 million from the rights to Peter Pan and Wendy over the previous five years. The hospital uses the funds to support its charitable work, including research, patient care, and infrastructure development.

More Disney+ Movies?

Disney Plus has an impressive lineup of original content, along with brilliant Disney movies, you’ll also get access to the Pixar catalog (Toy Story, Onward, Cars and Brave) along with the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Black Panther, Captain America, Thor etc…) and not forgetting all the Star Wars movies and series.

Subscribers outside the US also benefit from content which is normally only seen on HULU. Recently the platform added hit shows like NCIS, Criminal Minds, Will Trent and Big Sky. Arguably making the streaming service a better deal for those not in the States.
