If ever there was a movie that could boast an all-star cast, then it’s dune (2021).

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts and Eric Rothepic, dune is an epic sci-fi film based on the 1965 novel by Frank Herbert. At least the first movie is. The sequel to complete the adaptation is on the way in 2023.

With the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem all in the film, it’s easy to see why it was such a massive hit.

Made with a production budget of $165m, it took over $400m at the box office worldwide. It was the 12 highest-grossing film of 2021, and that’s despite being released on HBO Max on the same day in the United States!

So whether you want to watch dune for the first time or you fancy watching it again before the sequel comes out, here are all the places you can stream the film around the world.

Where To Stream Dune?

The US: Those with a subscription to HBO Max can watch dune for free.

The UK: dune is only available to stream on Sky Cinema or via the NOW app. Otherwise, you have to buy it.

Australia: There’s plenty of choice in Australia so you can watch dune on Netflix, Binge or FOXTEL Now.

Canada: Canadians have the movie available on crave. You can rent it on Amazon Prime Video or Apple if you don’t subscribe to Crave.

Argentina: You can stream the movie on HBO Max or Movie Star.

Turkey: unfortunately, dune is not available on any streaming platform for free. However, you can rent it on Google Play.

Czech Republic: Got a subscription to HBO Max? Then you can watch dune for free in the Czech Republic.

Germany: dune is currently only available to stream on sky cinema.

Sweden: If you subscribe to HBO Max in Sweden then dune is available to stream right now.

What Is Dune About?

as above, dune is based on the 1965 science fiction novel by Frank Herbert.

Set in the very, very, very distant future, it tells the story of Paul Atreides. Atreides is a gifted young man who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to keep his people safe.

Fighting has broken out over the planet’s exclusive supply of a precious resource. That resource is called ‘spice’, and it is a valuable psychotropic drug that gives vitality and heightened awareness to its users.

Atreides is already powerful, but when he is exposed to the spice, it triggers intense premonitions about the future of humanity.

There is a Holy War coming, and only Atreides can stop it. Or can he? watch dune to find out.

When Is Dune Part 2 Coming Out?

dune part two will pick up where the first film ended. With the same cast returning, the story of Paul Atreies continues in line with the book it is based on.

Atreides becomes the Messiah of nomads on the desert planet but what price will he pay to become the new ruler of their universe?

We do have to wait a little bit longer but we know that Dune Part Two will be released on November 3rd 2023.

Where Was Dune 2021 Filmed?

Dune was filmed in various locations across the world.

Cities and countries include the Origo Film Studios in Budapest, Hungary as well as Wadi Rum in Jordan and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates which were used for scenes in the Arrakis desert.

Caladan was created in Stadlandet in Norway, with scenes also filmed in Austria and Slovakia.
