Windows 11 – the latest version of Microsoft stealthily and without our consent gives away our privacy

Windows 11 - the latest version of Microsoft stealthily and without our consent gives away our privacyWe have known for a long time that the currency nowadays is not money, but our data. Every now and then we hear information about more companies that track their users. Unfortunately, this is the order of the day today. It is no different with operating systems. Thanks to one of the most popular foreign security channels, we already know how much information Windows 11 passes on.

Thanks to the YouTube channel “The PC Security Channel”, we know how much more information Windows 11 sends compared to Windows XP.

Exclu taken down by a coordinated strike by the services. The encrypted messenger has been in the crosshairs for half a year

We are all aware that each of Microsoft’s systems uses information relating to user activities and sends it to its servers. When installing the system, there is no “Do not send my data” option, only “Send required diagnostic data”. Of course, the manufacturer claims that such data is needed to improve its product. However, with each subsequent release of the system, more and more data is sent. On the channel “The PC Security Channel” One of the creators uses the Wireshark program to check where various information is sent. As it turns out, there is a really large amount of them, not only to their own servers, but also to advertisers and third parties. But what’s most interesting – everything happens on a clean install of the system, without any programs.

DNS0 – European public DNS provided for free. Thanks to it, you can safely surf the Internet

In the video we can see that one of the parties to which the data is delivered is Scorecard Research. This company is part of Comscore. The whole thing is based on analyzing users and sending this data to marketing companies, advertising agencies and various enterprises. The intention is to do this by means of surveys and collecting data from websites. As it turns out, you don’t need to have anything to do with this company for our data to flow to it. The next site to which “diagnostic data” is sent is One Trust. It is a “privacy and security software provider”. It’s nice of Microsoft to entrust our valuable data to such a secure company. Watching the video further, we see a comparison of data sent to Windows XP. As we can guess, the amount of information that is transmitted is significantly decreasing.

Want to buy a smartphone from China? You will also pay for it with your privacy

Everything is quite interesting because Windows is not a free system. Every user has to pay for it one way or another. Despite this, you can guess that Microsoft also profits from the data provided to other companies and advertisers. Of course, Windows 11 is much more functional than its predecessors, but not all information that is sent can be described as “required”. What is quite important, no one is informed about any of the companies to which the information is sent. So it doesn’t matter what option we select when installing the system. By using it, we kind of “agree” that our data will also be transferred to companies seemingly unrelated to computers.
