Earlier this week, Google announced 10 new features that are making their way to many Android phones. One such addition includes new widgets for Google Photos, Play Books, and YouTube Music. Now it seems that the YouTube Music widget is beginning to roll out.

The widget arrives with version 4.55.55 of YouTube Music (via 9to5Google), which is said to be rolling out widely to more and more users. Within the update, a new Recently Played widget is available with a 5×2 size and featuring two different sections.

On the top, you’ll be able to view the album artwork and song information, complete with a Play/Pause button and a “Like” button to the right. Below that, you’ll have quick access to your most recently played songs, playlists, and more.

Like some of the other new and improved widgets that Google has released, this widget is also semi-customizable. You can resize the widget to either 4×1 or 5×1, removing the bottom row of recently played media. The widget can also be resized to 5×4, which will then simply enlarge the top playing widget, but adds a second row of recently played songs.

It should come as no surprise, but this update is also designed with Material You in mind. This means the widget will automatically adjust based on the colors you have picked through the theming engine.

As we mentioned before, the widget is available in the latest update to YouTube Music, which is rolling out to users now. If you have already downloaded the update, but don’t see the new widget, close the app and try to view it again. In the event that doesn’t work, clear the cache and open YouTube Music again.
