Blizzard Will Reveal Its Warcraft Mobile Game In May

Blizzard earlier this year announced it was creating a Warcraft mobile game. It would be designed from the ground up for mobile devices, and would technically be the first game in the Warcraft franchise designed exclusively for mobile.

But, beyond that the studio wouldn’t say anything else. Fast forward a little later, and not much has changed. There is however one new piece of information. A potential reveal date.

Today Blizzard’s Warcraft General Manager John Hight put out a blog post containing details about the future of the Warcraft franchise. Most of it centers around World Of Warcraft and Hearthstone. But near the end it states that Blizzard plans to share more information about its upcoming mobile title. And while it’s very little information to add, it gives players something to look forward to.

Blizzard will talk about its first Warcraft mobile game in May

Blizzard is keeping things pretty tightlipped about the upcoming mobile title in the Warcraft franchise. The game seems to currently be in development but as of now, there’s no indication of how far along things are.

That won’t last for long though. Blizzard plans to talk more about the game in the coming months. Hight states that the team is looking to reveal more details about the game in May. This could include anything from the name to the genre and what gameplay might be like.

It could also include concept art, screenshots, playtesting dates and potential launch and availability information. All that said, it would be presumptuous to assume that any of that is information the players will learn. For now, all that’s clear is that Blizzard is working on it and that it has a date in mind on when to share more about it.

Keep an eye out for playtests

During the original announcement, Blizzard said that it was looking to get the game into people’s hands in 2022. It seems unlikely that, without an official game reveal, that this would be a launch. So this may point to potential closed or public playtests.

In today’s blog post, Blizzard says it’s still preparing to get the game into player’s hands. Albeit without a date this time. If you’re looking forward to hearing what this game’s all about, more details are close at hand.
