It’s been over a year since the Fitbit Charge 4 was released, meaning that we’re long overdue for a successor. Last month, we got our first glimpse at what the Fitbit Charge 5 would look like, and over the weekend Evan Blass (@evleaks) shared some high-res renders of three of the supposed color options.

According to these renders, it seems that Google/Fitbit will be offering the Charge 5 at least three different colors. The design is a bit more rounded along the edges, seemingly pulling inspiration from the Fitbit Luxe that launched earlier this year.

We can also see that the display, which runs almost the full length of the Charge 5 itself. On the right side, there appears to be a touch-sensitive area that would continue Fitbit’s trend of not including any physical buttons on its “flagship” fitness tracker.

At first glimpse, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Fitbit used an OLED display, but there’s no way of really knowing until the wearable is unveiled. Looking at the straps, we can see that Fitbit it redesigning the mounting system so that it sits flush, along with a new clasp.

Although these renders have a date of October 23rd, that’s not exactly an indication of when the Charge 5 will debut. Sometimes that’s the case, as companies use this in marketing materails, but it could just be a place holder.

We’ll have to wait and see when the Charge 5 actually arrives, but we’re still keeping out fingers crossed for a Wear OS-powered Fitbit smartwatch. Fitbit’s CEO confirmed one was in the works at during the Wear OS presentation at Google I/O, but not much has been revealed.
