Enterprises are increasingly turning to cloud and hybrid solutions. In order to help them unlock the benefits that this transition offers, today sees the launch of IBM Cloud for VMware as a Service.

The new offering provides an operated, secured and managed service by IBM Cloud, to help enterprises deploy cloud with the VMware software stack and IBM Cloud infrastructure.

It’s built to deliver high availability but has also been engineered to help lower the complexity and risk of migrating and modernizing mission-critical workloads. This can be particularly helpful to ecosystem partners, clients and developers in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare and the public sector.

“Building off news of the growing partnership announced earlier this year, IBM Cloud for VMware as a Service is a crucial stepping stone for both companies as we work toward a shared goal of helping global clients and partners modernize mission-critical workloads and expedite time to value in hybrid cloud environments,” write Rohit Badlaney, VP, product management and strategy at IBM Cloud and Rajeev Bhardwaj, vice president, VCPP at VMware, on the IBM blog.

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna emphasizes the importance of the IBM Ecosystem to combine the strength of IBM with an expanded network of business partners. In an open letter he says that the company is, “…more strategically focused, more technologically capable, more committed to equity, inclusion and sustainability, and more financially sound. We are better able to integrate technology and expertise to solve our clients’ problems, regardless of whether the solutions come from IBM, our business partners, or even our competitors.”
