Camera pixel counts? Pah! CPU clock speeds? Not interested. How quickly you can suck down electrons seems to be the new battle in the phone world – and Infinix reckons it comes out top trumps. The Infinix Zero Ultra can manage a stonking 180W, which is enough to refill its 4500mAh battery in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 12 minutes.
Infinix might be best known for its affordable handsets, but the Zero Ultra doesn’t seem to pull many punches. As well as rapid charging, it’s packing a 6.8in curved AMOLED display, 200MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation, and power courtesy of MediaTek’s Dimensity 920 CPU.
The 5G-friendly chip is paired with 8GB of RAM, which can be topped up to 13GB using a portion of the 256GB of on-board storage. It’s running Android 12, with the firm’s own XOS12 custom interface sitting on top.
The main camera is paired with a 13MP ultrawide and 2MP macro snapper, while up front there’s a 32MP selfie cam.
Crypto bros might also appreciate the NFT lottery card bundled with every handset. Winners get to own part of a digital art collection inspired by space exploration – though there’s no word on how many will be minted, or whether they’ll actually be worth anything in the future.
It’s set to cost the equivalent of US$520 when it launches in Infinix’s usual markets.

Landing alongside the Zero Ultra is the more mid-tier Zero 20. It’s also MediaTek-powered, but this time gets a Helo G99 CPU, paired with 8GB of RAM and either 128 or 256GB of on-board storage depending on spec. Charging times for its 4500mAh battery won’t be so rapid, but at 45W it should still manage a 75% refuel in half an hour.
Its 6.7in AMOLED screen can manage a 90Hz refresh rate, and tops out at 1080p resolution.
Camera quality doesn’t look like too much of a step down, at least for the front-facing selfie cam: Infinix reckons the OIS-equipped 60MP sensor is the first of its kind in the phone world. On the back, a 108MP snapper should be able to capture plenty of detail. It’s joined by a 13MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor.
It’ll arrive alongside the Infinix Zero Ultra, with prices set to start at the local equivalent of $270.
