The big day has finally arrived and exactly at the auspicious time of 10.20 am on June 9th Vignesh Shivan tied the traditional thaali to Nayanthara his lady love of eight years. The ceremony was held according to Hindu tradition with more than 15 purohits chanting mantras.

The five star hotel in Mahabalipuram is a hub of activity as the press barred from entering the venue waited outside to catch glimpses of the distinguished guests. Superstar Rajinikanth arrived on time as usual dressed in white.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his Gauri Khan flew from Mumbai from the shooting of ‘Jawan’ to wish Nayanthara who is the heroine of the film. ‘Jawan’ director Atlee a long time friend of both Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan dressed in traditional style also was spotted posing with SRK and Gauri.

Vijay Sethupathi who has worked with Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan in ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ and ‘Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal’ attended the wedding with his wife, daughter and son who were all dressed for the occassion. Anirudh again a very close friend of the couple was also caught by shutterbugs.

Veteran director Mani Ratnam, his wife Suhasini, director Mohan Raja, producer Boney Kapoor, Divyadarshini and Vasanth Ravi are among the celebrities snapped at the wedding.
