These days, it’s very rare to see phones with displays that dip below the 6-inch mark. It’s not even an issue of cost because we’re seeing budget phones that pack larger displays compared to some flagship phones (display quality and resolution notwithstanding).

But it seems that not everyone is a fan of these large displays, and one of those people is Eric Migicovsky, who some of you might recognize as being the founder and creator of the Pebble Watch. In a post on Twitter, Migicovsky has launched an appeal in which he hopes that with enough attention, manufacturers will start making smaller Android phones again.

In a post on his website, Migicovsky writes:

“It’s increasingly clear that a small premium phone is not on any OEM roadmap. So I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands. My goal here is to rally other fans of small phones together and put pressure on Google/Samsung/anyone to consider making a small phone.”

He also lays out the ideal specifications he would want from such a device, such as a display around 5.4-inches, be powered by the latest Qualcomm chipset, run on stock Android, and so on. While his post says he hopes this will grab the attention of phone manufacturers, he also says that in the worst case scenario, he might end up building the phone himself.

But what do you think? Do you think that phones these days are getting a bit too big and unwieldy? Would you be willing to buy a smaller phone if it came with all the latest hardware?
