The game retains its own identity and strives to be the best version of itself – a soothing, charming game with great characters and fun esoteric puzzles.
The fact that Gilbert and Grossman are back at the helm of the new part of Monkey Island makes Return to Monkey Island at least worthy of attention. And the fact that the traditional point-and-click format, remaining practically unchanged several decades later, is still in demand speaks eloquently of how timeless their ideas and their worlds have always been.
